Environmentally Sustainable Holidays at Easby Cottages

We are trying to run our business as sustainably as possible and have already invested in a number of areas to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible, whilst minimising the environmental impact.

Each cottage benefits from an air source heat pump which provides heating and hot water.

The cottages are thermally insulated and have achieved an EPC rating of C.

If you would like to travel in an environmentally friendly way whilst staying with us, Little Ayton and Battersby Junction railway stations are within walking distance of the cottages. These stations have direct trains to Whitby and Middlesbrough respectively. From Middlesbrough there are onward links to Durham, Darlington and York etc.

   Now Installed

  • A fast electric vehicle charging station – so if you travel by electric vehicle, you can easily re-charge whilst parked at our cottages.

  • Ground mounted solar panels with a battery management system on land close to the property to ensure we supply as much of the electric demands for the cottages from renewable sources.

  • We gratefully acknowledge funding provided by a grant from Hambleton District Council to help meet the costs of some of this investment.
